Related is committed to respecting your privacy. If you would like to delete your personal data from Related, follow the instructions below.

What Data Related Stores

When you use Related, we may store the following personal information:

Data	Description
Account information	Name, email address, password (hashed), avatar image
Profile details	Birthday, location, favorite memory
Connected accounts	Google or Facebook account ID (if you signed in with OAuth)
Family membership	Which families you belong to and your role within them
Memories	Photos and videos you have uploaded, along with captions
Invitations	Invitations you sent, including recipient email addresses
Verification tokens	Email verification and password reset tokens (temporary)

How to Delete Your Data

Option 1 — Delete your account in the app (recommended)

1. Sign in to your Relate account.

2. Navigate to Profile Settings (your avatar in the top bar → Settings).

3. Scroll to the Danger Zone section.

4. Tap Delete Account.

5. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

This permanently deletes your account and all associated personal data, including your profile, family memberships, uploaded memories, and authentication tokens.

Note: Families you created will remain, but your name will be removed as the creator. Memories you uploaded will be removed from those families.

Option 2 — Submit a deletion request by email

If you are unable to access your account, email us at:

support@relatedfam.app

Include the following in your request:

– The email address associated with your Related account

– A brief description of your request (e.g., “Please delete all data associated with my account”)

We will process your request within 30 days and send a confirmation to the email address you provide.

What Happens After Deletion

– Your user record, profile data, and authentication credentials are permanently deleted.

– Your family memberships and any invitations you sent are removed.

– Memories you uploaded are deleted, including associated media files.

– Email verification and password reset tokens are deleted (cascade).

– If you connected a Google or Facebook account, your Relate account is unlinked from those providers. Your Google or Facebook account itself is not affected.

Some anonymized, aggregated data (e.g., usage statistics that cannot be linked back to you) may be retained for service improvement.
